How old are you now

Your life is like a rollercoaster You move from country to country Your work is amazing in any point of perception My dear friend, you always have been and always will be Age to you is nothing but more wisdom and reason for more money to be made I reminisce days spent in parks behind trees where other eyes can not find nor see Only the sound of dogs bucking and the president’s car and companions passing The greatest coffee shops close by and pools with green slug but giving a beautiful picture of the place in a sunny day. Grow wiser and make more money Happy Birthday Kahenya

Heritage Day

Some how I find no words to honor this day. The 24th September is known to be a day of remembrance for South Africans. But yet to me; no words come for me to show that honor and pride for this day. I see and feel that a lot of us, especially most Black South Africans-we stare and look back so hard at the past that we forget the opportunities and doors of success right here open in front of us. HERE AND NOW Yes, it is good and wise to know your past (imvelaphi) and yes we all should be proud of where we have been and fought to be where we are today. Heritage should be holding on to your roots but allowing room to wisdom and new ways of improving the past. Let’s move away from old ways- ways done in the past (kwakunje) Put blame aside and work on our own intentions. Intentions of creating our own new nature, future and culture of indifference of our skin or language and equality. Do not forget where you come from, but embrace the future and change that it brings. Be open to change ‘Hope ...

Acceptance

I came to show way But all said no way I was judged and named from the first day No one cared to ask from where and be aware Instead of understanding and educating Anger and dissension grew hurting They left me to grow and told me to go I refused and instead I fused Knowing nothing else but anger resentment and shame I grew and made my existence known as fame I will not leave until I am accepted I will not leave until others are educated I will not leave until I am no longer contracted I came peacefully, why can I not be treated equally like: TB Cancer STDs And others Why must I be hidden and held secretly in shame? Accept me and I will be good to you and soon I will leave… HIV & AIDS

Distance

Don’t let the miles between us. *Keep our love apart!* Just listen close and you will hear. *The beating of my heart!* No distance, will ever keep *My heart from loving you* There are no more tears for it to weep. *For a love that runs so true!* I’ll be there with you one day soon. *To love you everyday!*and then my heart will sing a tune.* And you will hear it say!* I’ve finally found my one true love. *As true as one can be!*And now your all I’m thinking of,... * Forever stay with me!! * Don’t let the miles between us. *Keep our love apart! *Just listen close and you will hear. *The beating of my heart!* No distance, will ever keep*My heart from loving you*There are no more tears for it to weep.*For a love that runs so true!* I’ll be there with you one day soon.*To love you everyday!*And then my heart will sing a tune.*And you will hear it say!* I’ve finally found my one true love.*As true as one can be!*And now your all I’m thinking of,... * Forever stay with me!! *

12 September: Remember and Know

Today Born in 1946 and raised in Eastern Cape, he was a medical Student whom founded a black student organization and created a national “black consciousness movement” Had it not been for this man who fought for equality- it makes you wonder if things would be as they are today. I appreciate and honor the color of my skin as it goes deep beyond the human eye. In 1977 on this day Steve Biko died

Nine Eleven

When all seemed to be a normal day as like any other The air shared no secret of what was going to happen As the day progressed and the air grew tense There was something in the air and all could feel it but could not identify it Death had come and was rooming around them like a thief Angels whispered and gave hope and promised to protect The feeling was strong and the pain at hand was foreseen as unbearable Screams came from the top floors all the way down People ran side to side, confused and trying to save their lives No one could think clearly- brains froze Was this all a dream? Did all this really happen? Yes It was the 11th September 2001
