My Brother and Orlando Pirates

Pirates scored once twice and for the third time! I could imagine my brother screaming, jumping up and down in excitement and celebrating the great victory of the win. Back when he was in high school, he was a serious fan...always has been and always will be, a Pirate. I do not follow much of how the whole game works, but ever since I was young- I have celebrated Orlando Pirate’s downfall and victories like a true fan all because of my brother. I am fan not by force but by liking and being persuaded to join the adrenalin rash that all fans seem to have. My brother would be sick for days back in the day if his team Pirates would lose a match- and it was always not the team’s fault but the opponents fault or the bad referee. Orlando Pirates celebrated their 70th birthday last night from such a long walk- they stayed and never faded. Yes the journey has not been all smooth- players grew old and were changed from time to time. From him, I learn the meaning of being true and faithfu...

Budget Speech

But there are signs of uncertainty: since the beginning of the year for example, R24 billion in foreign holdings of rand-denominated bonds and equities has been sold. Inflation and our own lack of savings increase our vulnerability to financial turbulence. Our economy’s longer term outlook, however, remains favourable. Key policy anchors are in place to provide a solid mooring while enabling the economy to adapt to the cross-currents. The prudent fiscal stance, international reserves of US$33.6 billion, the inflation targeting regime and a floating exchange rate cushion us against shocks and reduce pressure on interest rates. We took these decisions early and we implemented them when times were good. We took them in the face of some severe criticism, even in this House. It is precisely because of the macroeconomic policies put in place since 1996 and the fiscal stance in operation that we can be confident that we will weather this storm. We have seen investment as a share of GDP rise f...

16 February

In history on this day – Pluto was discovered. On this day one of the great minds still in existence according to me was born. There may not be much to say about the day itself but there is sure a whole lot to be thankful that this day exists. 2 days after Valentines Day- I celebrate a birthday to someone dear and very special to me. He is my light when all is dark, my friend when in need and in deed. My better half when I have lost faith in all. My strength when I am weak and ready to give in. He is no angel but he is worth sticking around for a very long time- eternity seems to short. When the day that Pluto comes down to earth…. Then that shall be the end. I know he had a HAPPY Birthday- because I celebrated it with him and for him Lusisizwe Kwezi- loved and always will be loved and honored by me now and more years to come. Love Black Rose

Opening and closure

There is always an opening page where full introduction is made. Here is when you make sure that you leave an impression for come backs. You impress so, much that you actually forget who you really are yourself. People always get taken by new energy and new fresh ideas that hit them like a splash of quenching cold water on a sunny day. The eye always deceives us into believing or being taken into play by new people and things that we are seeing for the first time. Assumingly this is what most men call LAST and it is what most women call OPPORTUNITY COST- literally referring to the economic meaning of the term opportunity cost. When you connect with a new person- you feel that you are moving on the same line and you tend to agree on everything…magic isn’t it!?! Yeah, well- that quickly vanishes as you take time to know the person or thing that firstly got you impressed. Rather, be interested in knowing more and grow together into knowing that new person or new thing you have come across...

YOU

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on the door on which it was written: "Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym". In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself. The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up. Everyone thought: "Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he died!". One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest par...

From this- Looking back (growth)

Cruel Intentions There is a difference between playing fair and misleading someone You allow them to believe that you are the one The matters of the heart are unfortunately hidden for sometime Until the time is felt to be right to reveal all that is within Bruised ego is what is left behind Broken hurt left to hang What the heart sings to you everyday is never respected Little voice with in Whispering… Take time, don’t give in, am I safe, is it worth it??? The answer comes like a sudden black cloud out of the blue And the storm hits hard and where it hurts most Waiting for the cruel hard hitting drops to blow by But they pierce through like a silver sword on a silky sheet The pain is not felt at first, as the blade moves in lightening speed But time is the enemy but also the friend that heals I thank you for being who you are and what you meant to me Because; should I not accept then I will be the one who had Cruel Intentions Leave long and be blessed, for you deserve the best I contin...

Frustration

Do you find yourself feeling frustrated lately? If so, cheer up! You may be on the road to great success! Everyone gets frustrated from time to time, but, depending on how you handle it, frustration can stop you in your tracks or move you forward to success. Let me tell you a story that illustrates my point. There's this little company called Federal Express started by a guy named Fred Smith, who built the company, almost literally, out of frustration. When Fred started FedEx, he financed it with every dime he had and hoped to deliver 150 packages a day. He delivered 16 that first day - five of which went to the home of an employee. For a while, the staff wasn't sure if their paychecks would bounce or not, and many times the company planes were nearly repossessed. Sometimes they had to bring in a certain amount of business during a day to keep the doors open the next day. Today, FedEx is a billion-dollar company, but the only reason it exists is because Fred Smith could handle ...

Books Books Books

Have you noted that when pressure is upon you, no matter how well behaved you are and excited about the new year and the fresh start at your studies…but the moment you receive your material and you realize that you are at list 2 to 3 weeks behind…Pressure! Pressure! Pressure!!! Worse, you still need to get the prescribed books. Pressure! Pressure! Pressure! Now, it's hard to balance the scale under so much pressure- the gym, the cooking and the books…remember all of this is AFTER working hours… Don’t be discouraged- you might actually have a better plan or a good suggestion- so, what's your secret weapon in all this? What’s your take!!? Remember- being negative about it- won’t help…solutions! Not demolish

Great message for the prophets of doom....

MD's message - What a start to 2008... 2008 has certainly started with a bang! The future was rosy on 31 December 2007, but suddenly everyone is buying candles and researching property in Perth! A combination of recession in the USA, global equity market negativity, high interest rates, the National Credit Act and power outages have combined to create the perfect storm. But don’t panic! This is not the first time there’s been doom and gloom. Every few years the same thing happens. We experience massive economic growth, everyone is optimistic and buying Nescafe Gold, and holiday homes, and Merc’s. The positivity gets ahead of itself and the economy overheats, and then panic sets in because the economy seems to be collapsing when in actual fact it’s simply making an adjustment back to a reasonable level. It happened in 1989, when SA defaulted on its international loans and the stock market and Rand crashed, it happened in 1994 when the ANC took power and everyone thought war would br...

Declaration

‘I HAVE HIV/AIDS’- that is along the lines of words said by ZOMBO, a well known dancer and singer because of Kwaito star Author Vuvuzela. Look- the virus does not come into you today and attack tomorrow…so how come his disclosure is now suddenly a huge deal and people must donate money to his trust fund??? Just think about it! Does that mean fun is over now!?! Help is needed!!? I watched our so much loved TV station Live under SABC Mzantsi last Friday and heard the Live presenter (Andile) asking him to share his story with the world… Why do people cry freedom when they see struggle is coming but not realizing that they are the cause of the havoc? We are always blaming the other and follow others where ever we are pushed to go. Blind mice I say. I work from 8 am to 4:30 pm. And I have bills of my own to takecare of. Other people have pets and kids and installments… Not to brag or showoff – I pay charity monthly to people who can not do for themselves as I do- children. Now tell me, HOW...

Spin The Bottle

Have you ever noticed the mechanism of the whole game is just strange! The person whom firstly spins the bottle is the one that gets to dare the other person that the open part of the bottle happens to point at. Originally, the game rules were: you spin the bottle and kiss the person that the open part points at and then it changed to Truth or Dare…nowadays – that is NOT how “kids” play it!!! You might ask yourself why I pose such a topic/ question Let’s say its one of those things you happen to pass and it catches your eye and makes you wonder Brian S. Smith whose a “play” theorist spent most of his lifetime attempting to find out the cultural significance of play in human life and needs. He strongly believed that whatever games that kids play should apply the same to adults. It is said and believed that pretends playing for kids assist them in surmounting their struggles and survival. Well seeing that all the kids that I observed playing this game seemed to be going with every dare t...
